Africa Israel Investments, Bezeq, Hapoalim, Leumi: Israeli Equity Preview

(Bloomberg) -- The following stocks may rise or fall in Israeli markets. The TA-25 Index lost 0.1 percent to 1046.97 on April 19. Stock symbols are in parentheses after the company names and prices are from the close unless otherwise stated.

Africa Israel Investments Ltd. (AFIL IT): The holding and property company said talks to buy a stake in Dutch investment company Nieuwe Steen Investments NV from Habas H.Z. Investments did not result in a sale. Africa Israel rose 2.1 percent to 462.90.

Workers end four-day strike at Freeport Indonesia

(Reuters) - The mine on the island of Papua produces more than 500,000 metric tons of copper annually and is Indonesia's biggest source of tax revenue.

Frans Pigome, chairman of Tongoi Papua, a group representing native Papuan workers, said they would go back to work on Sunday.

Polish Zloty Gains for Fifth Week on View Bank Will Raise Interest Rates

(Bloomberg) -- The Polish zloty advanced for a fifth consecutive week against the euro, the longest winning streak since August, on expectations the central bank will lift interest rates this month.

The zloty logged its biggest weekly gain in four months as reports showing industrial output rose last month stoked speculation the National Bank of Poland will increase its benchmark rate by a quarter point at its April 25 meeting. The currency was also buoyed by speculation the Euro 2012 soccer tournament, which Poland is hosting together with Ukraine, will fuel economic growth.

Warnings on ABN bids a misunderstanding - Dutch FinMin

(Reuters) - A spat between the European Commission and the Dutch central bank over a possible rival bid for ABN AMRO was based on a misunderstanding, the Dutch finance minister was reported as saying, as a deadline for talks between ABN and suitor Barclays drew near.

ABN and Barclays this week extended a period of exclusive talks until midnight tonight. Discussions are likely to continue into the weekend, however, ahead of an agreement early next week, possibly on Monday, sources familiar with the situation said.

Kerkorian wants to meet with Chrysler employee group

(Reuters) - Representatives of billionaire investor Kirk Kerkorian are seeking a meeting with a group of Chrysler workers proposing an employee-led buyout of the automaker to consider some form of a cooperation, a person familiar with the effort said on Friday.

A renegade group of Chrysler workers in Toledo, Ohio, has formed an "employee buyout committee" and sent a formal proposal to Chrysler, the company said on Friday.
