second day, led by telephone company Tele Norte Leste Participacoes
SA.
The Bovespa Index of the most-traded stocks on the Sao Paulo
exchange gained 175.35, or 0.3 percent, to a record 52,253.03 as of
9:56 a.m. New York time.
