China shares down 2.4 pct as inflation data nears

(Reuters) - The Shanghai Composite Index fell as much as 3.3 percent in morning trade and stood at 3,526.004 points at midday, down 2.39 percent. Losers outnumbered gainers by 685 to 185.

Turnover in Shanghai A shares jumped to 100.9 billion yuan from Wednesday morning's 86.2 billion yuan, putting turnover on track to hit an all-time high for the day.
