(Reuters) - Alliance, which is in the midst of being taken over by CanWest Global Communications Corp. , earned C$41.2 million, or 98 Canadian cents a share, in the period ended March 31.
That's nearly twice the C$21.5 million, or 49 Canadian cents a share, it earned a year earlier.
