European Stocks Drop, Paced by BMW, Philips, Hypo Real Estate, Depfa

(Bloomberg) -- European stocks fell after reports in
the U.S. showed employers added fewer jobs than forecast last
month and growth in U.S. service industries slowed, reigniting
concern the world's biggest economy is cooling.

Bayerische Motoren Werke AG and Royal Philips Electronics NV
paced declines among companies that rely on sales in the U.S. The
Dow Jones Europe Stoxx Oil & Gas Index dropped to the lowest in
three months, led by Total SA and BP Plc after Citigroup Inc.
reduced its recommendation for the oil industry. Hypo Real Estate
Holding AG, the mortgage bank spun off from HVB Group, and Depfa
Bank Plc led financial shares lower.

European Stocks Pare Earlier Gains; Suez, Vodafone Lead Decline

(Bloomberg) -- European stocks erased gains. Suez
SA, the French energy and water group, and Vodafone Group Plc,
the world's biggest mobile-phone company, paced the decline.

The Dow Jones Stoxx 600 added 0.1 percent to 372.9 at 9:57
a.m. in London after climbing as much as 0.5 percent earlier. The
Stoxx 50 and the Euro Stoxx 50, a measure for the 13 nations
sharing the euro, both declined 0.1 percent.

European Stocks May Drop, Led by Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Infineon

(Bloomberg) -- European stocks may fall for a fourth
day on concern that financing difficulties in the credit market
will stifle mergers and acquisitions.

Credit Suisse Group and Deutsche Bank AG may follow their
U.S.-traded securities lower. Infineon Technologies AG, Valeo SA
and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA may drop after earnings
missed analysts' estimates.

European Stocks Pare Gains as BT Group, Thomson, Legal & General Slide

(Bloomberg) -- European stocks erased gains as
shares of BT Group Plc and Thomson SA fell.

ABB Ltd., the world's largest builder of electricity networks,
and European Aeronautic Defence & Space Co. paced advancing shares
after reporting earnings that beat analysts' estimates.

European Stocks May Drop; Credit Suisse, Allianz, Atos Origin Might Fall

(Bloomberg) -- European stocks may fall after U.S.
benchmarks tumbled the most in four months yesterday on concern
defaults on home loans are rising.

Credit Suisse Group, Allianz SE and Royal Bank of Scotland
Group Plc might drop after their U.S.-traded securities declined.
Atos Origin SA may also slide after Deutsche Bank AG recommended
selling shares in France's second-largest computer services
company. GlaxoSmithKline Plc may be active before its second-
quarter earnings report.

European Stocks Decline; ARM Holdings, Infineon Technologies, Telenor

(Bloomberg) -- European stocks fell, led by ARM
Holdings Plc and Infineon Technologies AG after Texas Instruments
Inc., the world's largest maker of chips that run mobile phones,
reported lower profit and revenue that missed analysts' estimates.

Europe's Dow Jones Stoxx 600 Index lost 0.1 percent to
394.42 at 8:07 a.m. in London with 15 of 18 industry groups
falling. The Stoxx 50 slid 0.2 percent, while the Euro Stoxx 50,
a measure for the euro region, decreased 0.3 percent.

European Stocks Advance; SAP, Roche, Vodafone, Actelion Lead the Gains

(Bloomberg) -- European stocks rose for the first
time in three days after profit from SAP AG and Roche Holding AG
beat analysts' estimates.

SAP and Roche joined Novartis AG among members of the Dow
Jones Stoxx 50 Index to report better-than-expected earnings so
far in this earnings season. Vodafone Group Plc gained after the
mobile-phone company said it added more subscribers than analysts
anticipated. Actelion Ltd. rallied the most in two years after
the biotechnology company said net income almost doubled.

European Stocks Fall for First Time in Four Days; BG, Man Group Decline

(Bloomberg) -- European stocks dropped for the first
time in four days after analysts downgraded oil companies and
investors speculated mounting U.S. mortgage losses will hamper
growth in the world's largest economy.

BG Group Plc and Statoil ASA paced a retreat in energy
stocks after a brokerage recommended selling the shares. Man
Group Plc and Lafarge SA led declines by financial stocks and
exporters. Anglo American Plc and Antofagasta Plc followed copper
and nickel prices lower.

European shares slip in early trade, oils weigh

(Reuters) - European stocks slipped early on Tuesday, led lower by oil shares, as investors continued to worry about the U.S. economy and hunkered down for key inflation data releases that could provide clues on interest rates.

At 0723 GMT, the FTSEurofirst 300 index of top European shares was down 0.4 percent at 1,623.67 points.

European Stocks Rise, Led by Marks & Spencer, Numico, Unilever, Nestle

(Bloomberg) -- European stocks advanced for a third
day, led by Marks & Spencer Group Plc after the retailer reported
first-quarter British sales that topped analysts' estimates and
takeover speculation lifted food and beverage companies.

Marks & Spencer shares jumped the most since February. Royal
Numico NV climbed 24 percent. Groupe Danone SA said yesterday
after the market close it offered to buy the Dutch company for
12.3 billion euros ($16.8 billion). Unilever SA, the world's
second-biggest maker of food and detergent, and Switzerland's
Nestle SA paced today's gain.

European Shares Climb for Second Week, Paced by Commodities; Accor Rises

(Bloomberg) -- European stocks rose for a second
week after a rally in commodity prices sent indexes of mining
and oil companies to records. Antofagasta Plc and Total SA paced
the advance.

Accor SA, Europe's largest hotel chain, led travel and
leisure shares higher after Hilton Hotels Corp. agreed to be
bought for $20 billion. Phone companies and utilities limited
gains in the region on concern central banks will continue to
lift interest rates.

European Stocks Rise, Paced by Shell, BHP Billiton; UBS, Peugeot Advance

(Bloomberg) -- European stocks rose after Deutsche
Bank AG increased price estimates for oil companies and Credit
Suisse Group said BHP Billiton Ltd. may expand in Latin America
to meet growing demand from China.

Royal Dutch Shell Plc and BP Plc lifted the Dow Jones Europe
Stoxx Oil & Gas Index to a record. BHP Billiton, the world's
biggest mining company, gained for the seventh straight day. UBS
AG rose after the largest money manager ousted Chief Executive
Officer Peter Wuffli. PSA Peugeot Citroen SA, Europe's second-
biggest carmaker, climbed on plans to increase market share.

GLOBAL MARKETS-Interest rate decisions focus investor minds

(Reuters) - European stocks fell, as did bond prices. The euro rose
against both the dollar and yen ahead of the ECB meeting, where
officials are expected to keep rates on hold at 4.0 percent
[ECB/INT].




Britain's pound bumped along near 26-year highs above $2.
The BoE is expected to raise rates 25 basis points to a six-year
high of 5.75 percent [BOE/INT].

European Stocks Rise; MAN AG, Nokia; Danone Jumps as Kraft Bids for Unit

(Bloomberg) -- European stocks gained after
brokerages raised their estimates for equities in the region and
Kraft Foods Inc.'s bid for Groupe Danone SA's biscuit unit fanned
takeover speculation.

MAN AG advanced after Goldman, Sachs & Co. added shares of
Europe's third-largest truckmaker to its ``conviction buy'' list.
Nokia Oyj, the world's biggest maker of handsets, and German
engineering company Siemens AG gained after banks increased price
estimates for the stocks. Danone rose the most in two weeks.

European Stocks Fall on Terrorism; Air France, Thomas Cook Pace Retreat

(Bloomberg) -- European stocks declined for the first
time in three days, paced by airlines, tour companies and
insurers after attempted terrorist attacks in the U.K.

Air France-KLM Group and British Airways Plc dragged the Dow
Jones Europe Stoxx Travel & Leisure Index to the lowest in more
than three months. Thomas Cook Group Plc, the travel operator
created last month by a merger, fell after Credit Suisse Group
recommended the shares as ``underperform'' in new coverage. Royal &
Sun Alliance Insurance Group Plc led British insurers lower.

European Stocks Advance in Quarter; Total, Linde, Swatch Pace the Gains

(Bloomberg) -- European stocks headed for a fourth
consecutive quarterly advance on speculation companies will keep
increasing profit and takeovers will lift shares.

Linde Group and BASF AG led chemical makers higher on
expectations they may merge. Swatch Group AG rallied after
Deutsche Bank AG recommended buying shares in the watchmaker
because revenue and profit margins may increase. Total SA and
Royal Dutch Shell Plc as oil climbed to a 10-month high.

European Stocks Recover Earlier Losses as Linde, BASF, Shell Advance

(Bloomberg) -- European stocks recovered earlier
losses as shares of Linde Group, BASF AG and Royal Dutch Shell
Plc advanced.

The Dow Jones Stoxx 600 Index was little changed, adding
less than 0.1 percent to 391.78 as of 2:25 p.m. in London. The
gauge has climbed 4.7 percent this quarter, heading for its
fourth consecutive gain, on speculation companies will keep
increasing profit and takeovers will rise. The index fell as much
as 0.5 percent earlier today.

Canada's Dollar Reaches Highest in Almost Two Weeks on Increase in Oil

(Bloomberg) -- The Canadian dollar rose to the
highest in almost two weeks on speculation an advance in crude
oil will lift the country's economic growth.

Investors also pushed up the Canadian dollar against the
yen as a rebound in Asia and European stocks encouraged
investors to seek higher-yielding assets funded by loans in
Japan, a practice known as the carry trade. Commodities
including oil make up about half of Canada's exports.

European Stocks Drop for Fifth Day; Axa, BHP, Northern Rock Pace Retreat

(Bloomberg) -- European stocks fell for a fifth day
on speculation higher borrowing costs will reduce economic and
profit growth.

Deutsche Bank AG, Germany's biggest bank, and Axa SA,
Europe's second-largest insurer, paced declines by companies
sensitive to rising interest rates. Northern Rock Plc tumbled
more than 10 percent after the U.K. bank said earnings growth
will miss analysts' estimates as rates increased more than
expected. BHP Billiton Ltd., the world's biggest mining company,
paced a drop in metal stocks as copper prices fell.

European Stocks May Drop for Fifth Day; Total, BHP, Northern Rock May Fall

(Bloomberg) -- European stocks may fall for a fifth
day, paced by energy and basic-resources shares as crude oil
traded near a nine-day low and metals prices dropped.

U.S.-traded securities of Total SA and Eni SpA declined. BHP
Billiton Ltd. and Rio Tinto Group retreated in Australian
trading. Northern Rock Plc, the U.K.'s seventh-largest bank, may
fall after saying it sees 2007 profit growth missing analysts'
estimates as interest rates rose more than expected.
