(Bloomberg) -- China, the world's biggest coal
producer and consumer, imported a net 310,000 metric tons of the
fuel in May as the pace of the nation's economic growth drove up
demand for fuel burned at power stations.
Imports rose 14 percent to 3.74 million tons of coal last
month, data from the General Administration of Customs received
today shows. The nation exported 3.43 million tons of the fuel,
customs said June 12.
