Rand firmer vs dollar, US bonds main driver

(Reuters) - South Africa's rand firmed against the dollar on Thursday, tracking a general recovery among emerging market currencies that have taken the brunt of rising U.S. treasuries yields, traders said.

At 1525 GMT the dollar was at 7.1875 against the greenback, 0.52 percent stronger than Wednesday's close in New York of 7.2250.
