Utilities Expect an Increased Role for Wind, Nuclear Power, Survey Shows

(Bloomberg) -- Utilities expect wind and nuclear
power to account for more of their markets' energy consumption in
the next five years amid global climate change and reduced
security of energy supply, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP said.

Forty-eight percent of respondents to a PwC survey said wind
energy will become more important than production from natural
gas and coal over the next five years, up from 17 percent in
2006, according to a report by the accounting and advisory firm
released today. Forty-five percent said nuclear energy will
account for an increasing proportion of their markets' energy
consumption, compared with 19 percent the year before.
