U.S. Senate Makes Agreement to Revive Immigration Laws, Ending Stalemate

(Bloomberg) -- The Senate agreed to end a week-long
stalemate over immigration legislation yesterday, just hours
after President George W. Bush endorsed a plan to speed $4.4
billion in funding to border security projects.

Nevada Senator Harry Reid, the Democratic leader, and his
Republican counterpart, Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell, said
the Senate would resume debate on immigration possibly as soon
as next week.
