Nymex Gas Is Steady After Report of Larger-Than-Expected Inventory Gain

(Bloomberg) -- Natural gas was little changed in New
York after a government report today showed stockpiles of the
power-plant fuel rose 107 billion cubic feet, topping an estimate
from analysts and relaxing concerns over possible shortages later
this year.

Analysts expected gas supplies held in underground caverns
would rise 105 billion cubic feet, the median of 27 estimates in
a Bloomberg survey of analysts. Stockpiles jumped 81 billion
cubic feet in the comparable week last year, according to
government data.
