U.S. 30-year mortgage rate highest since September

(Reuters) - Fifteen-year mortgage rates rose to 6.12 percent from 6.06
percent, the highest since 6.11 percent in the Sept. 14 week.




Despite such increases, 30-year and 15-year mortgages were
still well below their year-ago levels. During the same week
last year, 30-year mortgages averaged 6.67 and 15-year averaged
6.26 percent.
