(Reuters) - The news sent Wellpoint shares lower in early trading. By midmorning, they were down $1.50, or 1.8 percent, to $82.90 on the New York Stock Exchange.
The largest U.S. health insurer in a statement said its investigation did not reveal illegal conduct and that the violations were not related to Wellpoint's business. But the company declined to comment on the nature of the violations.
