Quebec premier, opposition in budget crisis talks

(Reuters) - Failure to garner a majority of votes in support of the May
24 budget would bring down the government just over two months
after it was elected. Voters in the mainly French-speaking
province of 7.5 million would have to head back to the polls,
most likely on July 9.




The ADQ, which forms the official opposition, has said it
will vote against the budget, and it was not clear who would
represent it at Charest's meeting.
