S&P raises Fiat rating; investment grade on horizon

(Reuters) - "The upgrade and maintenance of a positive outlook reflect
Fiat's continued improvements in profitability and cash flow
generation over the past several quarters, with an
uninterrupted decline in debt," S&P said in a statement.




Fiat last month said it boosted operating profit at its
auto unit almost four-fold in the first quarter, beating
forecasts, as it squeezed more money from a rise in sales of
its smaller city cars like the Panda. For details, see
